Retro Fused Glass Flower Mobile Handmade Art Glass & Steel | Turquoise and Green
Retro Fused Glass Flower Mobile Handmade Art Glass & Steel | Turquoise and Green
This handmade fused glass mobile is inspired by the bold color and optimism of 1960s design, reinterpreted through contemporary glass and metal craftsmanship.
The mobile features two opaque fused glass flowers in turquoise blue and spring green, arranged in a balanced vertical composition. Each flower is constructed entirely by hand using a multi-stage kiln-firing process. Individual glass petals are hand cut and shaped, then kiln fused. The flower centers are cut separately, hand painted using vitreous glass enamel, fired to permanently fuse the design into the glass, and finally fused again to join center and flower into a single solid form. This layered process creates depth, durability, and long-lasting color that will not fade.
The composition is anchored by a handcrafted steel mushroom form, shaped and hammered by hand. The steel is torch-fired to develop natural coloration and sealed with a clear protective coating to preserve the finish.
Designed to be both playful and well-crafted, this mobile is suitable for indoor display or protected outdoor environments, where light and movement enhance the glass.
